What is Misophonia?
Misophonia is not yet a well-known disorder and is often misunderstood. It is a multi-sensory neurological disorder that causes severe, abnormal emotional and physical reactions to everyday stimuli. These are typically quieter sounds such as eating noises, gum chewing or smacking, pen clicking, and some visual motions such as leg shaking. Without a known treatment or cure, misophonia sufferers, sometimes called misophones, tend to avoid normal situations and isolate themselves as a way of coping. Misophonia is a disability for people who have a pronounced case of the syndrome. Misophonia can be tough to understand and even tougher to live with.
soQuiet is here to change that.
