Julia Campbell received her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) in 2009 from the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

In 2015, she received a combined triple Ph.D. in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, and is the Graduate Program Director for the Au.D. program as well as the Audiology Discipline and Training Coordinator for the LEND program. Julia has been a member of the Misophonia Research Fund Scientific Advisory Board since 2019, and became the chair in 2022.

Julia uses electrophysiology and source localization methods to better understand cortical network plasticity in typical and atypical sensory function, such as tinnitus. She has published research in PLoS ONE, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Journal of the American Academy of Audiology, and Clinical Neurophysiology, among others.
